Nuremberg is pursuing ambitious climate and sustainability goals and supports event planners with sustainable mobility options, regional cuisine, strong partners and a growing sustainability network. The city’s goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65 percent by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2040 at the latest.

As a major transportation hub in the pan-European economic area, Nuremberg Central Station serves approximately 40 million travelers annually.
With Deutsche Bahn’s DB Event Ticket and VAG’s combo ticket, event organizers can actively support sustainable travel for their participants and encourage the use of public transportation.
Visitors also benefit from short distances and an efficient public transit system. Trams and subways in Nuremberg have been powered by green hydroelectricity since 2012. In addition, VAG relies on resource-efficient and low-emission propulsion technologies for its bus fleet.

Numerous accessible options are available for visitors with diverse needs. These include city tours for people with hearing or visual impairments, as well as wheelchair-accessible tours. In addition, the “Travel for All” certification system provides reliable guidance when selecting accessible accommodations and recreational activities.
